Aldbourne Post Office Cafe & Deli

Your village shop, café, deli, and a whole lot more

Our Story at Aldbourne

For over 200 years, this corner of the village square has been somewhere people come together. Some things change. But you can always find good food, good coffee, and good company here.

What started as your local post office has grown into something we’re quietly proud of: a proper village hub where you can post a parcel, grab a coffee, pick up something good for dinner, and stay a while. Run by Eddie, Tessa and our small, passionate team, everything here is made with care and chosen with purpose.

We believe local should mean something. So we source from nearby farms and growers, cook from scratch every day, and keep the kind of traditions alive that make a village feel like home. No shortcuts, no compromise, just honest, seasonal food made with real ingredients.

This place belongs to the community as much as it belongs to us. We’re glad you’re here!

Cafe & Deli

eat in  •   eat outside in the garden  •   takeaway

We are proud of how our Aldbourne Cafe & Deli has grown – bustling with happy voices and delicious smells! Our menu combines classics with new modern flavours and every dish is crafted with locally sourced produce and Eddie’s wealth of experience.

From a proper full breakfast to vibrant lunchtime salads, homemade soups, juicy burgers and our legendary sausage rolls – there’s always something worth coming back for. Keep an eye out for our everchanging specials board, too!

Our cakes and sweet treats are baked fresh daily. And coffee is specially roasted and blended exclusively for Aldbournce Cafe. And when the sun’s out, our garden is one of the nicest spots in the village to sit and slow down.

Catering for Every Occasion

up to 100 guests  •   bespoke menus  •   fresh local ingredients

At Aldbourne Café & Deli, we proudly offer bespoke catering for events of all sizes: from intimate family gatherings to weddings and celebrations for up to 100 guests. We work closely with you to build a menu around your occasion, your tastes, and your budget, using locally sourced, seasonal ingredients and scratch kitchen approach that makes our café what it is.

We cater for:

  • Weddings
  • Funeral receptions
  • Birthday parties
  • Family lunches and gatherings
  • Corporate events and meetings
  • Baby showers, anniversaries, and private celebrations

Our menus can include everything from elegant canapés and grazing tables to generous buffet spreads, afternoon teas, and beautifully presented sit-down meals. We also bake celebration cakes and sweet treats fresh in-house.

Farmshop

shop online anytime   •   visit store for full range

We’ve spent years building relationships with the best local growers, farmers, and makers in the area – and the farm shop is where you’ll find them.

Come in and you’ll discover fresh-baked bread, locally laid eggs, seasonal fruit and vegetable boxes, meats from our local butcher, independent wines, and local ales.

Can’t make it in? A carefully chosen selection of our artisan products is available online: from our own jams, chutneys, and preserves to local honey, sauces, and more. Everything is chosen with care because we’d rather stock less but stock it well.

Four of us booked for lunch on Saturday 24/10/25. As ever, wonderful food. We ordered 2 shaksuka, a smashed avocado on toast with 2 poached eggs plus one ham, egg 'n' chips. The staff are welcoming, caring and hard working. The food is as perfect and excellent value as always. Thank you everyone.

I don’t write reviews often but this deli was lovely. The food was 10/10 and the coffee. The staff were very welcoming. All local produce as well. We had been in Swindon and drove to this little village on the way home. Worth going 15 minutes drive. Was busy so would recommend calling as we only just got a table as there was just 2 of us.

The food was amazing! We had two Turkish dishes and delicious cakes. The drinks were disappointing, however, because they were too weak. Would definitely go back though.

Perfect little find! The space is quaint and had a community feel. We had the ham, egg, and chips as well as the smashed avocado on sourdough. Really top quality food, we enjoyed it very much. I would definitely go back.
Lovely place for a quick coffee and bite to eat.

We had an absolutely wonderful time at the Aldbourne Cafe, and would strongly recommend it to anyone in need of a delicious and well-priced meal, and a lovely atmosphere (with a wee garden cat you might catch a glimpse of!). The cafe menu featured English classics and a variety of delicious Turkish savory dishes, and the deli counter had a lovely array of savory and sweet treats that if we weren't stuffed from breakfast we definitely would have gotten.

The staff were kind and attentive, and the cafe space is cosy and delightfully decorated; the adjacent garden space looked so wonderful that we strongly considered sitting outside despite the snow on the ground. We couldn't recommend it higher!

This cafe does everything right. High quality food and drink, home made with skill and love, extremely competitively priced, in a wonderful setting with fabulous service. Do try the shakshuka - it's incredible! We're delighted to have discovered it and will look forward to visiting whenever we're in the area.

If you’re looking for a cafe that combines excellent service with high-quality food, look no further. During our visit, we were particularly impressed with their very full English breakfast, which is not only delicious but also incredibly reasonably priced at just £9.50.

The staff at are friendly and attentive, we will definitely be back to enjoy more of their offerings. Highly recommended!

An unexpected stop at this little oasis. Delightful welcome from the owner and a lovely atmosphere. The seating is simple but comfortable and although we only had a simple breakfast the quality was excellent.

What a fantastic little place! The food is absolutely delicious. I have stopped here a few times when I am out with friends riding dirt bikes on the trails. It has a great little post office and a lovely little cafe/bistro, and the deli counter has such a variety of homemade goodies. I do highly recommend the spicy chili sausage roll. The staff are always so friendly and welcoming. It is set in a lovely little country village. I have to say, it is a cool, cool place.

Very warm welcome to a lovely Hidden spot cafe at the back of the post office with indoor and outdoor seating. Clean food was lovely and cooked fresh. Very good for lactose intolerance they have a number of milk alternatives. Restroom facilities and a fresh deli for a snack for the road. Support local businesses.
